Most of the users face issues against internet connection in many of the areas to book a cab over online. To stop all these issues ixigo cabs introduced the 1-Tap Cab Booking feature on its app.
How does ixigo app work without an internet connection and GPS?
ixigo claims that the app uses the combination of intelligence about user's location through the PNR confirmation SMS's of Railway, Flight etc.., present on the user's phone when the internet connection doesn't work or available to book a cab. The app prompts users when they start their journey and when they have just landed or reaching near to the destination.Whenever a user installs the app for the first time, the app asks for the permission to access your phone SMS's among other things. This helps the app to understand the location of the user by reading the SMS's.
Apart from SMS's the app relies on various methods like last booked location, home/work location (if already set), tower location from the operator and last known location etc. This is more than enough for an app to know the user location to book a cab.
How to activate 1-Tap Cab Book Service feature?
The user needs to activate the new feature from the app menu, which then creates an icon on the home screen. Then the user has to hold or long press the icon for 3 seconds to confirm the ride for booking, and now the app will find your nearest cab and display cancel and call driver buttons to go further.All the Android users can download ixigo app from GooglePlay store whereas iOS users have to wait for the release date, which would launch very soon.
