WhatsApp Gets Google Drive Backup Feature Officially For Android
WhatsApp has updated a feature to backup and restore chat history and media on Google Drive in the next few months. This feature enables the user to backup data daily, weekly, monthly and never.

Features include backup chat history, videos, voice messages and photos on Google Drive. The rumoured was tested in April and feature was spotted by multiple users; though it was removed after a short period of time.

In coming months, the new version of the app with this feature will be rolling out as per the announcement on Google Drive blog post.

To backup the data, you need to move on to app settings, then chat settings and chat backup. Once tapping on the backup option, the application requests you to enter into your Google Account. Users can change the frequency of chat and data backup as per the requirement. It also adds turn-off feature for auto-backup.

The new version could have this feature added, so try updating your WhatsApp application on your Android Phone and check whether it is available or no. You can update the application using Play Store by typing the name in the search box.
