Google`s new video, voice and chat application has been released in May 2013. Previous Google Talk was just and app with Gmail connected but whereas Google+ hangouts isn't an app its a real time communication system architecture.
It has been made with a cross platform support in a way to challenge i Message and Skype. Google Talk has been replaced with Google+ Hangouts on Android Phones(2.3+) and also available on Apple`s IOS(6.1+) and Chrome based apps.
To use Google+ Hangouts on your desktop you will be asked to install Google Chrome web browser, if you haven't installed it before. As the Google Talk came auto-installed on android phones and was not available on Google Play store but Hangout is there to download and install.
The Google talk app has been replaced with some additional features as Google plus Hangouts but it is still available for us.
Hangouts allows up to 10 members for a group conversation in a video call. Users are allowed to add visual sound effects to their conversation and can watch YouTube videos together. Unlike Google Talk, Hangouts doesn't support user for invisible status and for sending files.
