By March 2016, we will no longer support Picasa Desktop application. For those users who have downloaded the software can note that the application is going work just like today. But there won't be any support or updates provided to the users from the end date.
If you would like to switch to Google Photos you can continue uploading photos and videos from the desktop by downloading the application from photos.google. We apologize for the inconvenience but we assure you that we are doing this with the aim of providing best photos experience possible by us to you.
