Last year Facebook announced its messenger based customer service and now Google is working to interact with their customers via text messaging.

This service would definitely monetize the companies which are proving text-messaging service to their customers for free. Nowadays people are connecting with their colleagues and family through online communication which can help them to reach soon with less interruption. Voice call as a primary solution for the customers is going to be declined soon.

According to the Dimension Data report which was held in the last year shows that there is a 35% drop in the voice interactions. And as per Salesforce.com report, customer inquiries across mobile apps, mobile chat, and social networks will increase more than 20% over next year.

We have experienced many calls saying "please hold on", "press 1 and press 2 and so on" for connecting to the customer care officials. But I personally like to interact with companies which understand the present generation and like helping people by providing non-voice support via messaging, this really helped me in saving my money and time.

Hope soon many companies will opt. these types of text-messaging services and understand needs of the customers.
