Apple will replace this issue for free of charge that exhibit this issue and have a qualifying serial number. You can see the position of this button - image attached at the top left corner.
Check If Eligible or Not:
You need to enter your iPhone 5 serial number in the box and click submit to check if eligible or not for this replacement program. If the box doesn't show anything then it means that your iPhone 5 is not eligible for free service.
When This Replacement Process Will Be Obtainable:
As if now from 25 April 2014 the program will be applicable for U.S. and Canada but from 2 May 2014 it will be available for rest of the countries.
How To Consign My iPhone To Repair Centre:
1. Offline
a. Bring your iPhone 5 S and locate it using find location to a participating contributor - Apple Retail Store.b. Your iPhone will be examined to verify the acceptability, and then send to the local Apple Repair Centre.
c. You will be notified once if it gets ready for pick up.
2. Online
a. Call Apple and request for a postage paid box to send your iPhone to the local apple repair centre.b. As mentioned above follows the second step.
c. Once serviced you will get a reply saying that "your iPhone will be returned to you".
Before Preparing For Service:
2. Turn off Find my iPhone.
3. Erase data and settings > general > reset > erase all content and settings.
Note: If you are using iOS 6 then your phone need to be upgraded to iOS 7 after sleep/wake button replaced.
