Facebook Messenger Reintroduced SMS Support For Android
Facebook to reintroduce SMS feature to switch users from Default SMS app to Messenger. This feature enables you to text and read messages right from Messenger.

Facebook on a post,

Today we are enabling users to use SMS in messenger for Android to communicate with their family and friends including phone contacts.

Messenger will show all your text messages and Messenger conversations at one place to stay in touch with all the people you care.

Currently Facebook has testing this feature with some people, here is how it works:
  1. Open Messenger profile and tap on settings
  2. Select 'SMS' from the list
  3. Make it as 'Default SMS app'.

And will be available to all users as early as possible. To make a difference between SMS chats and Messenger conversations, Facebook has changed the UI with purple color (SMS chats) and blue color (Messenger chats).

SMS in Messenger also supports texts, images, videos, audio, stickers, emojis and location sharing whereas Facebook Messenger can be used to send GIFs, send money, request transportation, make voice and video calls.

SMS feature is available only on Android and doesn't support sending or uploading or storing all your conversation on Facebook servers. All the text messages sent from Messenger will cost regular fee only and Messenger conversation will continue using your Data or Internet Connection.

Using this feature from the latest Messenger app will save your time and doesn't let you to switch every time when you receive messages.
